Its going well! 

We got 4 posts in without hurting anyone or the house! :) and do you see the fine carpentry skills of my dear husband on those ends! Fabulous I tell you! I have some more pics.. as we have since gotten a few more pieces in.. but that would involve getting them off my camera.. and I have about 50000 pictures to work on for other people.. so when they are done you will see lots more pics!

Swimming with the Cuz's

Does that even make sense.. Cuz's ??? LOL That reminds me of a funny story when I was younger! My cousin Charlotte and I are pretty close (despite being on COMPLETELY different continents right now!) plus I think its been a good few years since I saw her :( anyway! There was a time when we saw each other alot, and she was this cool older cousin.. (I am sure she still is ;)  Anyway I think I aspired to be just like Charlotte! and wished she was my older sister, she didnt have any sisters so we invented the cousin sister crossover.. Sisco (no not like the thong thing!) anyway.. Sisco Sar and Sisco Char! LOL Isnt that what cousins are for, making cool memories which make you in turn help your kids experience to make their own memories with cousins, friends etc. 

Anyway! We have been enjoying spending time with all the cousins the last few weeks while they have been spending time with Mimi.. it certainly is fun to get to see them and also to splash.. Hendrixs favorite thing! :)

So I decided it was time to take Hendrix for some new pics! Its been almost 2 months.. can you believe it!  Anyway we found a cool field and then a rusted out thing in Frisco :) He did so good though..I cant wait til hes standing and can pose for me :) 

I cant believe how fast hes growing! Even though hes not walking or really talking he looks like a little boy already! He sits next to you on the couch, will stand and look out of the window for ages, knows exactly how to make us laugh, and gives the best hugs and kisses ever! :) 

An update of sorts...

I know I know... my blogging skills (on this blog) seem to have gone by the wayside :( I have updated the photography blog alot though. Thats not pictures of Hendrix though, and I know thats what you want! :)

I guess this week I will be taking him to take more pictures.. just not sure what yet..

Anyway, what have we been up to??? WORKING WORKING...am I so blessed to be at home with Hendrix and have the wonderful schedule I have, even in this pretty crappy economy we have right now, Gas reached $4 a gallon, yet people are still making memories. Saying that I had 2 weddings this weekend, I realized on Saturday morning while on the way to the second that I completed 2 weddings in 20 hours!! no wonder I was exhausted yesterday! I had asked Kent last year when I booked this week if he could take the week off.. so this week he stayed home and played momma.. and he got flowers for it too! :) While I am sure there are plenty of things I could have got him that he would have appreciated I am pretty sure he got my intention.. and I think he appreciated it too :) Why shouldnt you give men flowers :) He did get a 6 pack of Dublin Dr P too! 

But you arent here to read about me.. The man of the hour is still as wonderful as ever! I swear hes making my friends hate me.. last weekend I had a girls night on Friday got home late, he didnt wake us up on Saturday until 9am :) Saturday night we had BBQ with some friends and stayed up a little late, Sunday he woke up at 10am.. I cant even count on my kid to wake me up early anymore.. bla bla bla I know! LOL He does DO bad things sometimes, eating dog food is the current favorite, playing in the dog water, loves mud ( he is a boy) seems to enjoy making a mess too.. we need to work on that one i think! But for the most part he is a pretty great kid!

Shopping is also something he likes.. thank goodness!~ he gets his chicken nuggets and people watches! :) 

He loves to chase Cash, although he sometimes looses track of what hes doing.. he is alot like his dad in that he gets distracted by something shiny.. LOL 

We are hoping by this christmas he will be walking enough to start ice skating.. we have to start our future hockey player as soon as we can :)

Well not all of them! Just a few stagglers and strays! :) 

I asked my DH to do Hs hair! I walk in and see him with scissors.. after crying WAIT! and he looked at me all worried I said "I have to get my camera!" LOL So I proceeded to get a few shoots of the curls coming off and then we put the curls in Godmother Caroles little jar :)  we even sealed it with super glue so they couldnt get lost! LOL He made me say goodbye to them! 

I know there is lots of firsts but first curls are always tough.. and while his appearance has barely changed I know hes growing WAY too fast!  :(

Teething troubles :(

This week was a slightly rough one, Hendrix is teething still and while his stomach is doing better you can tell hes still hurting :(

We have been doing the motrin and the orajel and a new product I was introduced to called HurriCaine gel, and yes Amy it is a wonder drug!

Although he did start making funny faces :)

One Year check up!

So after all the hoopla of cake and celebrations it was time to head in for our One Year Check up on Tuesday!

It seems like such a huge difference from the 9 month appointment, I was eager to see how he was doing, and hear about the changes we were about to make!

At this appointment we learned that Hendrix is 31 inches(90 percentile for height) 21.5 pounds (25th percentile for weight) and still has a huge head! LOL The Dr was very impressed by him and all hes learned he gave him an A+ and an excellent which apparently doesnt get handed out very often! Of course Hendrix showed off a little, clapping and waving at him! :)

We may go to see a baby eye person (because I cant spell it) as I think he has a lazy eye.. the Dr didnt notice too much but said if we were concerned that we could go.. so we will see! :)

We took them a One year picture too and everyone oooed and ahhhhed and commented on his big eyes, curly hair! He made me very proud! :)

Oh and we also found out that he IS teething, I thought he was I just couldnt see much, because he wouldnt let me! Hes getting his 2 cuspids, they are apparently going to come in "any minute!" and 4 teeth on the bottom.. at the SAME time! yet aside for some waking up and wanting to hug during the day, which is FINE by me, he is just fine and happy :)

Birthday Trip!

With all the craziness leading to the birthday I had asked Kent if he could take of the Monday after, I knew it would be nuts and it would be fun to have a day to recover. So we slept late cleaned up, and headed to the Aquarium, I think this was Hendrixs third visit! We may need season passes next year! LOL We knew this time he would be soo much more interested.

The point in going on a Monday was that it would be quiet, no crowds.. hmmm we pull into the parking lot and see about 8 school buses.. DARN IT! Walking in there were no lines, as we are paying I notice a sign on the glass that says.. "we are expecting 739 school children today" Sweet Jesus WHAT! OY! well we didnt get there until about 1 so there must have only been about oooo 200 left! so glad we didnt venture there early in the day!

Anyway we had lots of fun, and Hendrix was so much more interested this time, it was very cool to watch!

Busy Busy weekend!!

So I learnt my lesson on first birthdays this week, while I spent days getting ready, doing things around the house, it occured to me on Saturday that there is no point.. and all it does is take you away from your little one! which is why it then changed to being up til 2 each night .. although I couldnt sleep so thats my excuse! LOL

We had a great birthday though, lots of friends and plenty of food.. so much we had 2 rounds of people! LOL but it was so nice to hang out with friends and celebrate Hendrixs birthday, and my BIRTHday..

By the time his birthday came he had the cake thing DOWN! we had (and actually still have soo much cake!) it was a steal!


he got so many presents he loved, his car, his chair, things that light up and he recently figured out remote controls and what they do, so he even got his first remote control toy!


It was so crazy while everyone was there but we managed to get a pic of the stragglers! ;)


After everyone left he crawled and played outside and surprise the camera was still out!

Happy Birthday Little One

While the date will say its Hendrixs birthday its VERY late on Friday evening :) I have just been busy doing stuff and realized its now my little boys 1st birthday. It took me until today to really believe it! and each time I say or it or write it down I want to cry :( not in a bad way or a regretful way, just because its soooo true when people say how fast it goes. I have seriously loved every single minute and from the over 100 clips of video and 1500 pictures I started to go through tonight I have great documentation of it all. Kent and I sat and watch some of the video as it loaded on my computer and it really is amazing all the memories we have captured. 

The last year hasn't been nearly as stressful, sleepless, worrisome or even as hard as I thought becoming a parent would be. Instead it has been full of Love, Fear (of anything happening to him), Laughter ( I noticed on the video tonight.. a lot of that!), and even heartbreak, I cant imagine him growing up and not needing me, but we have a long way to go til then! :) 

I am excited to share this weekend with my son (still sounds weird!) and my wonderful husband :) (apart from a wedding stint tomorrow for a few hours :) ) we will call that a long naptime.. so I dont feel like I have left him on his birthday! LOL We have a busy weekend and then a trip to the aquarium on Monday.

Now I just have to keep it together! :)

A day out!

Tuesday we were invited to tag along on a trip to the petting zoo, I brought with me Sarah and Christopher to keep us company :) Hendrix did great, but he was so tired and I think hes teething again, he was a little fussy most of the day :*( but I guess its time to get more teeth!

Anyway, at the Petting Zoo we were introduced to a Guinea Pig, Ball Python, Blue Tongued Skink, Rabbit, Hedgehog, Lizard... I think thats most of them! They had new baby pigs and THE most adorable baby Goat.. that it seemed Hendrix got a little deep with! LOL

Happy Birthday - ROUND ONE!

So Sunday was the first of the birthday parties! Hendrix and Max shared their family party this year, and they both didnt seem to mind sharing the limelight :)

We all had fun and ended the day with those HUGE volcano creations.. as you can see Hendrix was a little surprised by it!

Growing fast!

Today is the first of Hendrixs Birthday parties.. I am almost sad, its been a year (almost) and I cant believe it! Hes a little man now, who gets himself around and blabbers on about goodness only knows!

This week we had some fun days some down days and of course some work days.. blah! We had a day out with Mimi and Papaw to pick birthday presents.. that was FUN! We helped grandma get new glasses, everyone appreciated that! LOL

Hendrix is venturing into new rooms and figuring out how our house works.. he loves the doors and he loves the windows! Maybe hes trying to tell me something?? LOL

What have we learned?

In the words of my new favorite comedian! Craig Ferguson, hes a quirky, intoxicated Scottishman on late night TV :) there is something about him I really kind of like! I have started to DVR his show as the time that its on at night I would prefer not to be awake, but sometimes I am, thats how I found him :) Anyway.. at the end of his shows he lays back and asks what did we learn today..

Well what DID we learn this week..

We learned that we LOVE having a few days to ourselves, Hendrix is SO MUCH fun right now, so we love Mondays, we sleep, clean, go for walks! I LOVE it! and sometimes on Wednesdays too.. and we have been treated to some crummy weather, which just makes it easier to stay home and be snuggly!

We also learned that I am much more scared of storms than I thought! :( we got some HORRIBLE weather this week, some of my friends where in the middle of it, while we didnt get much damage there was thunder that made me jump so fast it woke Kent up and grabbed me.. I closed the curtains, checked on the baby over and over, who actually slept through it! we were both online checking various sites! It all turned out it was just rain and some storminess.. and we all went back to sleep.. except for Hendrix, he woke up once it was over! LOL

Hmmm we also learned that I HATE tax time.. well I always have but this year they are seriously well.. this is no place for terms like that!
BUT it has made me glad we arent moving and we took our house off the market! LOL

We learned that Hendrix LOVES to swim! :) He was so cute swimming with his little friend Christopher :)




OOOO and we learned that my new favorite movie is AUGUST RUSH, I kept seeing it while renting movies and it caught my eye, except I thought it was a kids movie, well when the weather got icky I rented it thinking Hendrix and I could watch it! I ended up putting it on on Friday night while Kent was at work, and LOVED it, cried a little, was incredibly inspired, so much so I couldnt take it back the next day.. I have now watched it 3 times in 2 days, and didnt even mind that it skipped in parts and even watched those parts over again :) you know in between cleaning and breakfast etc.. :)

We learned that 3 year old birthday parties just get more and more fun! especially when you get your head stuck in the bouncy castle! :) HA yea didnt know about that one did you :)
You also realise upon compiling the images you have captured of said 3 year old, how much you have been blessed to be a part of his life! :)

And what did Hendrix learn, apart from the real crawling on all fours, and getting really good and pulling up and walking.. oh and learning UP when he wants you to get him, and standing (and somtimes jumping - depending on how pleased he is to see you) that Hendrix LOVES LOVES LOVES Chocolate chip pancakes.. its becomes daddies favorite Sunday morning thing!:)
